Fisherman's Lodge
There is no better way to spend some time on the Daly than having your own bedroom and comfy bed, your own lounge and bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen in which to whip up any meal you like.
The "Fisherman's Lodge" has two self contained units.
Unit 1 is upstairs and has two bedrooms. It is private, quiet and very, very comfortable. A double bed in one bedroom, two singles in the other are made up with linen and towels are provided. The lounge room has comfy seating for four people and a TV. The kitchen has a large fridge and gas stove. It overlooks its own tropical garden and the pool. Sitting on the verandah, you'd swear you were living in the tree tops.
Unit 2 is on the ground floor of the Fisherman's Lodge. It can accommodate up to 8 people. It has three bedrooms, one with double bed and air-conditioning, and 2 with 2 single beds. The lounge seating can be transformed into two double beds. All linen is provided. Each room has its own fan. With its own Dining Room and TV, Bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with Fridge and Gas Stove, it also overlooks a tropical garden with palm trees and grassy areas.
Wake up to the sounds of the bush and after breakfast wander just a few meters from your door, climb into your boat and set off to catch the big barra. Part of the charm of being in the bush is the way we provide our own services. We draw our own bore water. There is a public phone only a 100 metres away. Fax and email facilities are available on request.
You can drive to Woolianna in a conventional car. It is bitumen all the way except for a few kilometres of gravel, which is in good condition. If you are flying into Darwin you can hire a car and drive the 230 km to Woolianna, or for a unique experience why not catch the 'mail plane' which comes to Daly River every Monday and Thursday, where we will happily collect you from the airstrip.
